Picture of the day: my puppy

I visited last week my family and got to spend a lot of time with my puppy who is living now with my mom since I moved to Germany 6 years ago.

Her name is Linda and she’s a mini poodle.

We played on the Xbox together.

We went on long walks and, as long as we’re not taking her to the vet, she loves riding with the car.

Juicing

I have heard a lot of good about juicing and decided to try it out a few months ago.

I’ve tasted good juices and bad ones too during this time. The bad ones I had to force myself to drink. The good ones I couldn’t get enough of.

I buy mainly organic vegetables and fruits. The cost is much higher than the non-organic products, we sometimes even pay twice as much at the grocery store as we previously used to. But it’s worth it, I think organic products are healthier and they taste so much better.

The real success story that I actually wanted to share with you was how healthy juicing really is. I’ve been struggling with some health problems over the years and I could only keep them in check by taking medicine for several months every year. At my last check up in December, the results were not satisfactory once again. This is when I started juicing and last week I was at a check up again. Well, surprise surprise, the results of the blood analysis and other procedures were remarkably positive. The doctor couldn’t write any diagnose because after 7 years of constant battle I was finally completely healthy.

Additionally to juicing, I have also discovered smoothies recently. I bought myself a blender and prepared delicious smoothies from frozen organic fruits blended with yogurt and milk. These smoothies taste even better than super-expensive big-name ice creams bought from the store.

I even bought a juicer and blender for my mom and convinced her and my brother to start too.

I am incredibly happy that after so many years I can say that I am healthy again and I will definitely continue juicing and preparing smoothies as they are not only healthy but yummy too.

Sheryl Sandberg: Why we have too few women leaders

I am currently reading the book “Lean In: Women, Work, and the Will to Lead” written by Sheryl Sandberg. She gave a TED talk about this same topic and I highly recommend both women and men to watch the talk and read the book too! It’s very educational and inspiring.

This week has been loaded with so many things to do. I was on a training from Monday till Wednesday and each day after the training I have worked a bit on my pending tasks. I ended up arriving home late in the evening and went straight to sleep after having had a small dinner.

The next days after the training was over I had to make up for the lost three days and finish my tasks. It went faster than I expected and I was all done in the early afternoon on Friday.

The weather looked also nice so I spontaneously decided to leave early from work to enjoy the sunny afternoon in the inner city. I haven’t been here since months! It’s been too cold to go outside till now.

After a small snack I took a walk on the Easter market. A visit to Starbucks was also mandatory, of course!

It’s been such a nice Friday afternoon after a chaotic workweek. As soon as spring comes, I’ll definitely come more often to the inner city.

Picture of the day: going to Ikea

We had to go to Ikea today to buy a specific present for the first birthday party of our friends’ daughter.

My boyfriend was not so excited as I told him yesterday evening and he wasn’t in a big hurry today as we were getting ready to leave. He was probably hoping that there’s a chance he might skip it.

I can completely understand it, spending Saturday at Ikea with a big crowd of people pushing everyone around is not my all time favorite either. Everything is organised so that we had to pass through each section, wheather we wanted or not. My boyfriend needed a break as soon as we went in, thus the picture of the day. Needless to say that the item we were looking for was at the very end.

Even though we were in and out in 30 minutes, it had a great impact on our good mood and we needed some good food to get back into our happy place again.

I guess we won’t be going to Ikea anytime soon.

Weather forecast is trying to scare us evey day with -20 C degrees and big snow. This is not the weather that I would expect or want in March. After several months of cold I’m ready for spring to come and bring a little warm and sun into my life.
Yesterday was cloudy and cold again. I was already afraid that the weather forecast might be right for a change. But when I woke up today and saw this sunny clear blue sky, I knew that there’s still a high chance for spring to come very soon.

Picture of the day: the train station

This is the train station next to my office. The platform is made of wood and during winter it’s very icy. It is also very narrow, when I’m waiting and a fast train passes by, I have to hold on so that I don’t fly off the platform. The stairs are so unstable that the first time I arrived here, I thought it will fall apart under my feet.

Also needless to say that there is no elevator so it’s practically not suitable for disabled people or mommies with baby strollers.
